Why I complained to the Charity Commissioner?

Why I complained to the Charity Commissioner?

None of my letters and queries to the Club was answered nor was I offered any explanations. The only response I received was being called by a M.C. Member and asked why I should not be expelled from the Club!

Though I had cautioned the Club Management from time to time that in absence of any response or corrective actions, the Office of the Charity Commissioner would intervene, I never posted any complaints to it till I was compelled to, in the interest of the Club, write to it on 30-05-2010.

I heard members talking that I have complained on the behest of Mr. Pravin Barve. Ridiculous! Wonder whether he is not part of the management that is questioned?

Some members also questioned the source of information. What is important?

I found out later that there are some mistakes in my complaint.

The Life Membership now costs Rs. 4,00,000 and not Rs. 3,00,000. The Ordinary membership costs Rs. 1,00,000 as entrance fee and about Rs. 3,860 as annual fee. Good for Ordinary Members to save Rs. 2,75,000 as against annual payment of Rs. 4,200 or so (so the % is 1.28% and not 1.33%. Sorry for the mistake!)

Such a savings is fully justified as the people in the proximity and who cannot afford the Life membership fee should be in a position to avail the Club facilities.

My questions were whether such ordinary memberships were issued:
(1) by public offer?
(2) to the people who otherwise cannot afford the Life membership?, and
(3) were the Ordinary or Life memberships were open for admittance?

The issues rather than the amounts are important.
