To,
Hon. General Secretary,
MIG Cricket Club,
Bandra-East, Mumbai
Sub: Managing Committee Election date – Request for change
The date for the elections as notified on the Notice Board viz. 30th June, 2010, falls on Wednesday.
As you are fully aware that even on a Sunday, the total voting normally ranges between 20% - 25% of the eligible votes. The voting on a working day is unlikely to reach even 5%. Such a low voting would be a mockery of the entire election process.
I fail to understand the reason why the elections were not declared earlier so as to enable holding it on a Sunday as was the practice of the last so many years. I request you to kindly inform all the members the compelling reasons that forced the Managing Committee to wait till the last date, thus, causing loss of a working day for any member wishes to vote.
You will appreciate that non-ratification issue as put up by you on the notice board of the Club cannot be a compelling reason for not scheduling the elections earlier.
In view of the above, I request you to kindly do the needful to advance the election date to 4th July, 2010, Sunday, or any other Sunday of the month as may deemed be fit.
I request you to kindly put this letter on the notice board of the Club for information of all the members.
Thanking you,
Deepa Tidke
